Sebastian crept into the deserted kitchen, glancing around thoughtfully. Not because he thought he would get in trouble for being there, but rather because it took him a moment to figure out where things were. It seemed the kitchen was always topsy-tervy this late in the night.. Whoever cleaned it never seemed to make it easy for Sebastian to get in and get out.
Sighing, he rooted through a few cabinets until he came up with a green apple. Cleaning and drying it, he bit into the crunchy fruit and sighed his satisfaction as he turned to exit the room, apple in hand..

Velstaria had wondered down to the third floor for lack of anything else to do and she walked through the coridors deep in thought hardly watching where she was going, the hunger grew less intense every day and her nuasia at what she did to the humans made it no easier to deal with when she did need to drink. She hated what she did to survive and her thoughts followed that path tightly. She worried constantly about the donors of the ship, if she had anysay in it she would drop the extras off at a port when they had too many donors but Yvette didn't seem to think in the same ocean of morals as Velstaria did.
And now Alucard and Ameria.... that was almost too much to think about in itself. She sighed silently suddenly hearing someone else's sigh. She realized she had wondered straight through the kitchen's back door without noricing it and when she looked up she saw Sebastine with an apple about to leave. "Hello there" she said realizing a little late that her saying something suddenly in the other wise silent room might make him jump.

Sebastian did, indeed, jump in alarm as he heard Velstaria's voice quite suddenly in the absolute quiet of the kitchen. He stopped in mid-bite and turned to face the young-looking vampire, lowering the arm holding the apple to his side. Fidgeting slightly, he let his gaze move up to rest on Velstaria and a little smile of welcome curve his lips. He knew it was late so he shouldn't have been too surprised to run into someone but he hadn't expected it to be one of the vampires.
"Hey Vel." He greeted in his usual way, cheerful and not at all disturbed at seeing the vampire. Sure he knew she was way older than himself and only looked younger, but it had long since stopped disturbing him. He'd gotten used to the ship fast, and his loyalty toward the crew was vast. "Didn' think was gonna run inta anybody down here.."

Velstaria tried not to luagh at Sebastion's jump but it looked quite silly and she couldn't help smiling. It was always strange to think that someone bigger then her was so much younger, but like him she had gotten used to it and like many of the other donors his pressence had grown on her. He was good company and she enjoyed having a donor closer to her size then so much larger then her. Not that she enjoyed her feedings but rather that she could relate to him better than to full grown humans. "Having a midnight snack then?" she asked her smile becoming a kind welcoming one. She could remeber doing the same when she had been a donor on this ship, Cook always complained that the younger and newer donors ate at least twice their share of food. It was silly of course becuase there was always plenty of food, but Cook had been with the ship for a long time and was used to having it Cook's way. Goodthing she was a heavy sleeper becuase she was the only person on this ship that would care if he was taking an apple for the night. She smirked to her thoughts of old Cook and brought her attention back to Sebastion. "So have you been having a good day?" she asked curiously.

He relaxed a bit as soon as he realized that it was Velstaria and not the Cook that had caught him, lifting his hand back to his mouth and taking a bite out of the apple, chewing and letting the taste burst on his tongue. But since he was talking he didn't take a second bite, but rather paused to answer Velstaria's questin with a nod. "Mhm, got hungry an' Syvie said to jus' take what I wanted." he said, which was partially true. She'd told him to go get something, but she hadn't really gone as far as to say as much as he wanted. That he just inferred because he knew by now he could get away it.
"Guess so." He answered her second question, taking another big bite out of the apple. "You?"

Velstaria shook her head slightly her day had been a long restless one with plenty of unpleasent surprises to make it even more excitingly stressful. "My day has been intresting to say the best of it" she replied sighing and wishing her soar shoulder away. She had pulled it trying to lift one of the new vampires from his fainted donor's body so that she could see if the donor was ok. It had been a bleak shell of the previously bright and cheery Donor at best and she sighed just to think of the sight of the donor's worn face, pale as his vampire's. She shuddered at the memory and had no doubts that if and when Yvette heard of the useless condition of the certian donor that she would have him, taken care of.

"Oh.Why'sat?"Sebastian asked curiously, momentarily ignoring the apple in his hand for his curiosity. Despite all he knew about the vampires and the Donors and everything, he still found it so hard to believe that anything could be hard on the Vampirate ship. It seemed like such a perfect place to him. Well, except when he stumbled upon things like what he had heard Syvette ordering Alucard to do.. He felt so bad for the donors that she would have that done to.. Sometimes she scared him with how calm and detached she could be, like she was a whole 'nother person sometimes...
Shaking away the thought, he turned his attention back to Velstaria and waited to see if she would answer his question.

"It was poor Clark, you know the donor around 15?" she asked not sure that she should tell him the whole truth but thinking Sebastion might want to know the dangers of this ship. "Well his vampire, Daniel, the newest of the crew, took too much blood today and now Clark is barely able to hold to his life and his blood isn't about to restock it's self anytime soon. I'm afraid if Yvette hears of it she'll have him taekn care of, though as of now it seems that he might get better in the next few months. Hopefully Yvette won't hold kill any of the extra or weak donors before he's had that chance to heal, he's rather good company to talk to." she said shaking her head saddly. She looked up at Sebastian hoping she hadn't frightened him, it hadn't been until after she was turned that she had learned of the ways with which extra donors left this world.

"Clark?"Sebastian repeated the name, completely at a loss to who that was at first, then nodded as he remembered. He knew who Clark was. Listening to her explaining about the situation with Clark and his vampire worried him... Daniel was a new vampire and Clark was, usually, a pretty healthy and tough guy but he knew Syvette would be looking to get rid of the extra donors and if Clark couldn't donate... He shuddered at the thought.
"Syvie told Alucard ta get rid of the extra...So don't tell 'er an' it shouldn' matter.."He said thoughtfully. He hated talking about what he'd heard behind Syvette's back but he felt a kinship with the other donors. They were human like him...He would regret it if he didn't give Velstaria a heads' up. "She said the old ones had to go." He said quietly. He wasn't afraid, not really, but he was disturbed..

"Thanks I'll keep an eye to keep him away from Yvette until her business is finished." Velstaria said sighing and shuddereing at the thought of what would be occuring the next night. She would have to take a swim the night it was scheduled for to drown out the screams of those being put to death in the feast room. She remembered faintly the first time she had attened one, it was her last time attending one. Then an idea came to her, she wasn't certian but she didn't think Sebastian would want to be alone that night eighther to hear the screams of those who were of his own kind. "Would you like to take a long walk on deck at that time?" she asked certian he would understand what she ment.

"No problem."Sebastian answered. He was happy to pass on the information if it would help in some way despite feeling guilty for eavesdropping. Sometimes it was necessary, he supposed. And even if it only helped Clark and Velstaria it was still useful. He didn't know what he would do the next night..He knew he didn't want to be present for the feast that would occur..The donors that would be put to death. He didn't want to hear their screams.. He shuddered at the thought. That would be one night he would wish he could escape the ship...Hearing her question, he nodded immediately. "Sure. Be better than hangin' below decks."

Velstaria nodded sympatheticly, though she felt horrible for the humans she could not imagine how aweful it would be to hear those you talk to everyday and are your own kind screaming as they were drained of all of their blood so that the ship didn't have extra people on it. She sighed and gave Sebastian an encouraging smile, she was glad that Yvette seemed to have taken a liking to him, she didn't want to losse him to such a horrible fate, it was hard enough for her when it wasn't people she knew at least a little. She was glad that she herself hadn't drank in nearly a few months now but she knew she was going to have to drink a few more times in the next coming years before she could acheive the rare ability for a vampire to go without blood, though it had been proven plenty possible.

Sebastian didn't really respond to Velstaria's encouraging smile in any noticeable way. Just thinking about what the donors that were picked out would endure..It made him sick to his stomach. He didn't understand how Syvette could coldly order that they would die, but..He guessed she thought it was what was best for the crew and the ship. He didn't know and he definitely was not going to ask..but.. he couldn't help but wonder. Would she had done the same to him? Would she ever? She seemed to care about him but he couldn't get the niggling worry out of his head. "D-do...you think Syvie would.. would ever let that happen to me? Kill me 'cause I got..old?"he asked quietly.

Velstaria was shocked by his question and unsure of how to answer. She herself wouldn't think Yvette would do such a thing to him, but she wouldn't have thought she would kill donors at all until a while after her being turned. She shuddered again to think of what might have happened to her if she hadn't been turned when she got sick. She walked over to Sebastian and wrapped protective arms around him though she could only stand to his shoulders as it was. She hoped he would understand that she was just being protective of him, she couldn't think of anything else to do for him to comfort him as she answered as truthfully as she could. "I don't hink she would hurt you, she's taken a liking to you but she is unpredictable. If there ever comes a time when she wants to do such a thing to you I'll protect you to the best of my abilities." she dropped her arms and looked up at him, a look of solem and trustworthy promise.

Sebastian stood still as he felt Velstaria's arms around him in a protective gesture, comfortable and at ease in the vampire's hold. It wasn't that often that he donated blood, but it was enough that he didn't mind her being close to him. Besides that, he trusted and liked Velstaria. She was his friend. Despite the height difference he did feel comforted and protected by her hold; he knew she was strong enough to do what she said. Or at least try to, and though he wouldn't really ask her to.. He hoped it wouldn't ever come to that. He listened to Velstaria's answer to his question and nodded slowly, smiling a little. "Thanks, Vel."
