Meri stood at the very edge of the deck, fingers curled around the thick edge of the wood to keep herself firmly anchored to the spot. The wind was silent but less-than gentle as the ship plowed through the waves, but the salty sea air was wonderful as far as Meri was concerned. The air cooled her face as the sun began to inch itself below the horizon, shadows lengthening as the night came.
She knew the vampires would be stirring any moment, but the thought only brought a strange sense of peace for Meri. She didn't mind them so much..

Amadeus stood in the doorway, waiting for the sun to set. "Hurry up already..." He said to himself. It had been a very long day, and he was hoping to get to the helm soon. Amadeus sighed loudly as he looked to the chest containing the maps. "Why does it always take so long for the sun to go down?" He asked himself. He looked up and saw a woman standing on the deck. "Wish I could still do that in the sunlight..." He muttered, running a hand through his hair.

Meri took in a deep breath as the last ray of light disappeared beneath the horizon. It seemed to her that the scent of the sea changed..It was warm and ripe during the day and cool and fresh in the night, though there was no one she could ask to confirm her thoughts. Shaking her head slightly, she looked up toward the sky and the stars that were just beginning to show themselves.. This was her favorite thing about life on the Lucifuge : the night sky.
As she turned away from the view of the sea, she gasped in suprise to note the vampire in the doorway beyond.

Cain slammed his cabin's door open and laughed loudly as he came out on the deck. "Bahahaha! Night!" he bellowed. "This is the greatest time of day!" The cool breeze made his cape billow slightly and refreshed his skin. "Alright, fellas! Come on out! Not a sign of sun to be seen!" He laughed again and walked to the stern side of the ship, looking over at the horizon. He stuck his middle finger up at the setting sun and laughed again.

Amadeus stepped out of the doorway when he heard Meri gasp. He looked up from the floor. "Sorry to startle you miss. Just trying to beat the rush out of the door." He said as he walked to the helm. "And I add captain, that you are as eloquent as always. Your way with words knows no equal on this ship." He raised an eyebrow at the captain's gesture. "As does your way with hand gestures."

Meri flicked her gaze toward the sound of an opening door, a little smile curving her lips as she spotted Cain. She watched him quietly, a little giggle passing her lips as she heard his bellowed words and watched his behavior. He was certainly an oddball, but he made life on the Lucifuge interesting. Shaking her head slightly, she moved away from the ship's bow.
Looking toward the other vampire again, she smiled lightly and shook her head. "It's alright." she assured him, before her gaze moved to Cain again. "Good evening, Captain." she greeted.

"Ay, and f**k you too," Cain said with a smile to Amadeus. "You Amadoody you." He then turned to Meri and bowed low. "Evening Miss... uhm... It's Carry, right? In my wandering over your beauty, miss, I seem to have temporarily forgotten your name. Surely, it shall never happen again." He picked himself up, smiled goofily, and laughed, looking to the night sky.

Amadeus sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Sir, it's Amadeus. Amadeus Price? Your navigator?" He shook his head and walked to the the helm and took hold of the wheel. "So, where to sir?" He asked; slightly thingying his head as he looked at the captain.

"Take us where ever the wind carries us, Mr. Yamaguchi," Cain said, walking around aimlessly. He sat down on the stairs leading to the helm and laughed. He was going on a natural high. He hadn't been able to sleep in the day, so when night came he was relieved.

Amadeus growled and yelled, uncharacteristically loudly. "Its not Amadoody! Its not Mr. Yamaguchi! Amadeus! Amadeus Price! And in case you've forgotten; I control the wind! I don't know where to take us if I do-" He stopped here as a rather strong wind picked up. "Never mind. Just... never mind." He said, getting quiet again as he steered down wind.

Meri couldn't help but to laugh softly in response to the Captain's words, shaking her head slightly. "No, Captain..It's Meri. Merideth Cason, remember?"she replied. She didn't really mind though...She was sure the Captain had alot on his mind and his charming, silly behavior was amusing enough not to injure her feelings. Becoming quiet, she watched Amedeus and Cain silently, looking wide-eyed at the Navigator when he lost his temper..

"Now Mr. Cannibus, let's not get incensed," Cain said, opening his telescope. "And please forgive me, I'm not quite myself. The sea air has me flustered." He then turned his attention to Meri. "Meri... Meri.. got it," he said, looking out to the horizon. "It would appear that we can make port in about, ah... sometime. Care to join me in some horizon watching, Ms. Elizabeth?"
(Ahaha Cannibus and incense)

"Cannibus? Why would you even be thinking about... Never mind. Just keep your cool Amadeus." He muttered the last bit. He gave the ship a tiny push with his power and looked back at Cain. "Wh I serve that man I will never know. Honestly, how can you forget a name like mine? You don't meet very many people named Amadeus these days." He stopped himself there. He sighed loudly before adding: "I really need to learn to stop talking to myself..."

Meri opened her mouth to correct him, then just closed it again and chuckled lightly. Instead, she nodded slightly and smiled. "Sure, Captain." she agreed, moving closer to the two vampires, though more so to Cain that Amadeus. She was more interested in the telescope and the horizon than the mappings..and besides, she didn't want to be close if poor Amadeus got upset again..

"So Ms.... Deliverus? Was that it?" Cain asked. "Ah, nevermind. Here, look through the telescope and tell me what you see." He held the telescope to Meri. He had always been fond of Meri, even if she was a human. He wasn't sure what it was about her, but whenever it crossed his mind he shrugged it off and thought about pie. And monkeys, sometimes.
(Once a pie eating a monkey O.O)
